Gastric Band Removal

If your circumstances require that the gastric band be removed this is thankfully a fairly straightforward procedure.

“Machine, be good to me this new year. Or else, I’m sticking you under the bed again.”

It can normally be performed with keyhole surgery and takes about 45 minutes.


The difference in technique whether you have a Lap Band ® system or Swedish Band or otherwise is fairly minimal.

You will usually need just one night in hospital and can go back onto a normal diet almost immediately.
